SPELT PORRIDGE WITH WATER

Spelt is an ancient type of wheat that originated in the fifth millennium BC. It was used to bake bread, make delicious porridges and simply toasted in the oven. Regular use of spelt porridge helps to improve the digestive system, normalize the nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular systems, reduce the risk of cancer, strengthen the body’s defenses. Today we will learn how to cook a simple spelt porridge with water, a recipe that was especially popular in Russia. Such porridge turns out nourishing and tasty.

Ingredients for 1 serving:

80 g. dry spelt
300 ml of water for soaking
300 ml of water for boiling
salt, spices (to taste)
vegetable oil or butter (to taste).
Step 1. Rinse spelt thoroughly and pour pure water over it. Leave it for the night or at least for 4 hours.
Step 2: Once again rinse soaked spelt, we shift it into a saucepan, pour 300 ml. of water and put on maximum heat. When the water boils, we weaken the fire and cook the groats for 30 minutes. Do not need to stir.
Step 3 Once all the water has boiled away and absorbed into the groats, remove the pot with spelt porridge from the fire, add your favorite spices, salt or sugar, and butter. Serve delicious and healthy spelt porridge on the table.
