VEGETARIAN MAYONNAISE

Mayonnaise is an important part of salads. But, for vegetarians, store mayonnaise is not suitable because it contains eggs.

Making homemade vegetarian mayonnaise is fairly quick and easy to do with its composition. The basis of our mayonnaise is sour cream 15%. The benefits of sour cream are obvious – it is a lactic acid product that is well digested by the digestive organs.

Of course, it is a caloric product, but its caloric value is much lower than that of store mayonnaise – 160 kcal.

In 100 grams of sour cream contains:

Protein – 2.8 g;
Fats – 15.0 gr;
Carbohydrates – 3.6 g;
As well as vitamin complex of group B, vitamins A, E, C, PP and elements important for the human body – iron, iodine, manganese, copper, fluorine, zinc.

By following the recipe below, you will get a delicious and healthy vegetarian mayonnaise from sour cream.

Ingredients for Vegetarian Mayonnaise:
Sour cream 15% – 4 tablespoons;
Sunflower oil (unrefined) – 3 tablespoons;
Honey – ½ teaspoon;
Sea salt – ½ teaspoon;
Mustard live (not powder) – ½ teaspoon;
Apple cider vinegar – 1 tablespoon.
Instructions for making vegetarian mayonnaise
In a container we put sour cream, honey, salt, mustard and mix everything. Then, in doses, one spoonful, add oil – add one spoonful – stir, add the second one – stir, add the third one – stir. And finally, we pour in the vinegar, stir it again until a homogeneous texture and leave it in the cold for about 30-40 minutes, so that the mayonnaise will thicken a bit.

If desired, in the mayonnaise prepared, you can add to your usual taste, ground in a coffee grinder, dried herbs and herbs. This will give the vegetarian mayonnaise a special, individual taste.

Such vegetarian mayonnaise can be used not only when making salads, but also when baking vegetables.
