What to pamper the little ones with in the heat? Ice cream, of course! However, store ice cream is not the best option for little sweet tooth, since the composition of the dessert leaves much to be desired.
The main danger is all kinds of substitutes. Instead of the usual natural ingredients (butter, cream, and milk) producers add palm oil, trans fats, stabilizers, and various synthetic flavorings to ice cream.
A separate negative point, which is almost always present in the ice cream of industrial production, is simply a huge amount of sugar, which, of course, cannot but affect the teeth of small consumers. But what to do if you want to treat your kids to real creamy ice cream? There is definitely a solution, and it’s very simple and pleasant to make.
A wonderful alternative to the store product will be homemade children’s ice cream, made from cottage cheese and banana!
Ingredients:
Cottage cheese – 250 g. (dry, fine-grained).
Cream 10-20% – 120-130 ml.
Banana – 2 pcs.
Bananas must not be too overripe, otherwise the color of the ice cream will be a little dark.
Vanilla sugar (vanillin) – 1 tsp.
Powdered sugar – 3-4 tsp.
- We load the following products into the blender: cottage cheese, chopped bananas, 1/2 of the cream, vanilla sugar, powdered sugar.
- Everything is mixed well in a blender until a homogeneous consistency. The mass should be similar to a thick sour cream, so pour the remaining cream very carefully, it is important not to overdo it.
- 3. We put the ice cream in a container or molds, and place it in the freezer for 5-6 hours.
Here’s the trick: if we leave the ice cream in the freezer overnight, it’s better to put it in the fridge for a while before serving, so that it becomes softer.
- The ice cream is ready to serve!
Children’s cottage cheese ice cream turns out very tender and airy! Also, parents will not have to worry about the sweetness of the dessert, as the banana and a small amount of powdered sugar give the dessert a sweet, but not sugary taste.
We make our children happy with homemade, and most importantly natural, ice cream.
Bon appetit!
