Ingredients :
Flour – 250 g
Butter – 140 g
Salt – 1/2 tsp.
Oranges – 3 pcs.
Pitted dates – 250 g
Maple syrup (optional)
Mix room temperature butter with flour and salt to a fine crumb. Separate a jumbo of these crumbs (to sprinkle on the top of the pie), to the remaining dough add 2 tbsp. water and knead the dough. If necessary, add another 1 tbsp. or if the dough is too sticky, add a little flour. Ideally place the dough in the fridge for 2 hours, but you can do without it. Roll it out. Layer a ceramic mold with baking paper (after crumpling it up and smoothing it out, so it will fit better) and place the dough in it. Oranges should be carefully washed, cut off their tails, cut and remove pips and white membranes in the center. Then, if the oranges are thin-skinned, finely chop all three oranges together with the skin, add dates and mix until a smooth pulp. If oranges are thick-skinned, then peel 2 of them, and the third one is sliced with the peel. The resulting filling is placed on the dough in a form, if desired, you can pour maple syrup, on top sprinkle the crumbs that were separated from the dough. Bake for 40 minutes at 180C, then turn off the oven and leave the pie there for another 30 minutes.
Have a nice meal!
